St. John Lutheran Church of Romeo

Many church facilities are available to rent  for such events as bridal showers, baby showers, etc.  Contact the church office at 586.752.4588 Monday through Friday from 9am - 4 pm for details and availability.

Sanctuary

Our church sanctuary is part of the original church building, dating back to 1892, with beautiful stained glass windows, antique chandeliers, and lovely, padded wooden pews and trim. For music, we have a pipe organ installed in 1947 and concert grand piano. The sanctuary is six feet above ground level and can be reached via eight stairs or an elevator.

• Choir Area (Main Floor) – 30

Gathering Area

Just outside the sanctuary is our gathering area. Featuring Amish oak dining tables and chairs, as well as a fireplace and comfortable sofas and stuffed chairs, the gathering area is a comfortable, informal setting where people typically gather to share coffee and doughnuts after service. We also use this room for small meetings up to 20 people.

Conference Room

The conference room is located on the ground floor and is a traditional meeting space complete with a large table and seating for 12 – 20 people.

Fellowship Hall/Gymnasium

Our gym is a recent addition to the church. Featuring two regulation-height basketball hoops at each end of the room, the room includes vinyl flooring and can be used for many different types of events, from games to bridal showers. The gym is approximately 40 X 80 feet and can hold up to 150 people seated at 12 tables. There are two rest rooms outside the gym.

Kitchen

Adjacent to the gym is the kitchen, which was renovated in 1996. The kitchen includes three gas ranges with ovens with hoods, two large refrigerators and one large freezer, sinks, a dishwasher, and clean-up station. We have approximately 150 place settings, including cups, saucers, knives, forks, spoons, etc.

Basement

The church features a large basement that includes the following rooms:

• Three classrooms with seating for about 4 to 20 people in each room
• Main hall that is 30 X 60 feet and can hold up to 50 people
• Offices that can hold 4- 8 people
• Theatre room with 30 seats and large screen TV

Second Floor

• Choir room for choir with seating for up to 30 people
• Three other rooms are available for storage and meetings up to 4 - 20 people
• Library with space for up to 20 people
